The participants shall:

ELEMENT 5.4 - TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
Learning objective:
51) The participants can describe how to maintain tools and equipment during installation (Knowledge, basic level)
52) The participants can take responsibility for securing tools, equipment, accessories, minor components, items, and parts by adequately tethering to prevent dropped objects (Ability, intermediate level)
53) The participants can show interest in taking correct precautions to prevent dropped objects in relation to encountering adverse environmental conditions. (Ability, basic level)
54) The participants can explain potential increased hazards from adverse environmental conditions in relation to dropped objects and the need for tethering (Knowledge, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Describe the importance of keeping the tools and the tool container clean and regularly maintained
Explain that an inventory list can usually be found in the tool container, and should be cross referenced to make sure that all tools delivered on site are returned
Ask the participants relevant questions about how to maintain tools and equipment during installation
Present participants with different hand tools and tether equipment, asking them to point out the following 3 points:
a.
tethering point (on the tool)
b.
tether
c.
anchor point or attachment point
