Support the participants during a short exercise and in following training scenarios and activities in this training module to ensure that hand tools and other relevant objects are tethered before working at height, including information about when and how to tether
Support with further examples related to regional hazards, such as:
a.
wildlife
b.
ice-cover on blades, steps and platforms
c. effects of environmental conditions (e.g. sun-heated or frozen tools)
Lead a discussion on the challenges faced when handling equipment in extreme environmental conditions
Lead a discussion on the mitigating actions and due diligence required in relation to handling tools and items in adverse environmental conditions
Provide feedback to the participants on their awareness and abilities to tether hand tools and other relevant objects when working at height
The participants shall:
Describe in their own words and share understandings about how to maintain tools and equipment during installation
In a short practical exercise with different hand tools and other relevant objects, individually point out 3 points and practice how to tether a tool correctly:
a.
tethering point (on the tool)
b.
tether
c.
anchor point or attachment point
During following practical training scenarios and activities in this training module ensure that hand tools and other relevant objects are tethered before working at height
Suggest hazards from adverse weather and environmental conditions that may impact the use of hand tools
Take active part in a discussion about mitigating actions and due diligence in relation to handling tools and items in adverse environmental conditions
Receive the instructors feedback and adjust the tethering accordingly
