After having successfully completed this lesson, the participants can:
20) Take responsibility for working safely and responsibly with mechanical parts and handheld tools (Ability, Intermediate Level)
Lesson 3 should be conducted in a BTT relevant practical setting

ELEMENT 3.1 - GENERIC SAFETY HAZARDS, RISKS AND POTENTIAL INJURIES, AND APPROPRIATE CONTROL MEASURES WITH HANDHELD TOOLS
Learning objectives:
21) The participants can explain how a tool's characteristics relate to its hazards, the risk of short- and long-term injuries, and control measures to reduce risks (Knowledge, intermediate level)
22) The participants can show interest in following manufacturers’ documentation (manuals, risk assessments, guidelines) and company specific procedures to prevent short- and long-term injury (Ability, basic level)
Where relevant, design practical exercises so that participants take responsibility for preventing injuries from using handheld tools
Note
The instructor shall:
Pose questions about hazards and potential injuries from using manual and powered handheld tools with moving parts (e.g. manual torque wrench, impact wrenches, hydraulic torque tools, electrical drills) and preventive actions depending on the task at hand
