ELEMENT 5.2 - HANDHELD TOOL INTEGRITY AND PROPER CONDITION

Learning objectives:

46) The participants can explain why modifying tools is prohibited (Knowledge, intermediate level)

47) The participants can take responsibility to only use authorised tools as they are designed and not to modify or repair tools (Ability, Intermediate level)

48) The participants can take initiative to perform pre-and post-use inspections on a handheld tool checking for damage, tool integrity and calibration test certificates where required as well as mandated inspections and in-date marking (Ability, intermediate level) 49) The participants can recognise signs of tool failure or malfunction, including battery damage, potentially leading to over-heating and describe appropriate actions in the event of tool failure (Knowledge, basic level)

50) The participants can take responsibility not to use damaged tools and to place damaged tools out of service and under quarantine according to company procedures (Ability, intermediate level)

51) The participants can take responsibility for transporting tools and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company specific procedures (Ability, intermediate level)
