c. accompanying the casualty, if required, to suitable medical facility and formally hand over the casualty d. escorting the casualty to the nominated evacuation/rescue point providing continued enhanced first aid

88) Take responsibility for administering safe, effective, and immediate lifesaving and enhanced first aid measures to save life and give assistance in remote areas using advanced emergency equipment and medical teleconsultation, while having particular regard for personal protection (Ability, intermediate level)

ELEMENT 7.1 - PRACTICE FIRST AID TECHNIQUES

Learning objectives:

89) The participants show interest and take responsibility for correctly assessing, assisting, and providing the necessary first aid in an incident (Ability, intermediate level)

90) The participants can apply first aid equipment in a first aid situation (Skills, intermediate level)

91) The participants can manage and lead an enhanced first aid response to an incident (Ability, advanced level) 92) The participants can apply clear communication skills among the team, when getting help and obtaining telemedical advice (Skills, intermediate)

The instructor shall:

Explain safety procedures in the training area

Present scenario(s) where the participants must assess, lead, assist and provide the necessary first aid in an incident, ensuring that they cover the following topics:

a.

managing incidents using medical teleconsultation

b.

providing necessary lifesaving first aid

c. correct use of basic and enhanced equipment including the use of an AED and airway management devices

d.

knowledge of and skills for AED safety procedures
