ELEMENT 6.1 - HOW TO ATTACH A GUIDED TYPE FALL ARRESTER

Learning objective:

35) The participants can safely and correctly perform the attachment of a guided type fall arrester to the fall arrest system (Skills, intermediate level)

The instructor shall:

Provide constructive feedback on the participants’ performance during the practice

The participants shall:

Practise how to choose the correct slider or glider for a guided type vertical fall arrest system

Practise how to attach the slider or glider safely and correctly to the rail or wire

Practise how to attach the slider or glider safely and correctly to the harness

ELEMENT 6.2 - FALL RESTRAINT AND FALL ARREST LANYARDS

Learning objective:

36) The participants can safely and correctly perform the attachment of a fall restraint and fall arrest lanyard to a vertical ladder system (Skills, intermediate level)

The instructor shall:

As part of this exercise the participant shall practice carrying, at a minimum, 2 hand tools, a mobile phone and a radio as a minimum, and potentially additional equipment, accessories and minor components, which shall be transported to height in a safe way e.g. tethered individually or tethered/secured in a personal closed top tool bag

Create a practical exercise that enable the participants to practice how to use fall restraint and fall arrest lanyards

Provide constructive feedback on the participants’ performance during the practice
