Basic Safety Refresher Training / V12 2023-05-02

a. rescue of a conscious casualty hanging by a guided type vertical fall arrester, secured by their work positioning lanyard (inside of the ladder) with the rescue equipment in a passive setup, preferably utilising a rope clamp for rescue b. rescue of an unconscious casualty hanging by a fall arrest lanyard (inside of the ladder) with the rescue equipment in an active setup c. rescue of a conscious casualty secured by their work positioning lanyard (from the outside of the ladder, with hip diversion, i.e. rescue line is diverted using the side D-ring located at the hip of the rescuer’s harness. This creates greater space between the casualty and the ladder) The formal evaluation of knowledge of above scenarios shall be in accordance with the participant assessment form (template provided in the Requirements for Training). The training provider keeps the participant assessment forms until the completion/ evaluation of the BSTR Module. Training providers shall have a documented procedure in place for dealing with participants not meeting the stated learning outcomes. If a participant fails to meet the demands, they shall attend a new BSTR Working at Height Module.
