ELEMENT 6.1 - SAFELY AND CORRECTLY MOVE OBJECTS UTILISING CORRECT MANUAL TECHNIQUES TO ATTACH A GUIDED TYPE FALL ARRESTER
Learning objective:
40) The participants can safely and correctly perform the attachment of a guided type fall arrester to the fall arrest system (Skills, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Practise how to choose the correct slider / glider for a guided type vertical fall arrest system
Practise how to safely and correctly attach the slider / glider to the rail or wire
Practise how to safely and correctly attach the slider / glider to the harness
The participants shall:
Provide constructive feedback on the participants’ discussions and practice
ELEMENT 6.2 - FALL RESTRAINT AND FALL ARREST LANYARDS
Learning objective:
41) The participants can safely and correctly perform the attachment of a fall restraint and fall arrest lanyard to a vertical ladder system (Skills, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Create a practical exercise that enables the participants to practice how to use fall restraint and fall arrest lanyards
As part of this exercise the participant shall practice carrying; 2 hand tools, a mobile phone and a radio as a minimum, and potentially additional equipment, accessories and minor components, which shall be transported to height in a safe way e.g. tethered individually or tethered/secured in a personal closed top tool bag
Provide constructive feedback on the participants’ performance during the practice
