LIGHTING WORKSHOP
Year 13 Theatre studies students went to Hampton boys school where the technician of the Hammond theatre, Matt, delivered an excellent workshop on how lights and sound were used. The workshop was interactive and students were able to ask him about how he would light the set texts they are using for their exam. Excellent revision for them before they go into their exam!
‘THE IT’ PERFORMANCE
Quirky Bird theatre company came to perform Year 9 and 10 ‘The IT’, a set text they are studying for GCSE Drama.
Students commented that they felt the play was important in raising awareness of mental health in young people as the play is about all the stresses on a teenagers life and how they can cause anxiety. The piece is very current and addresses issues facing society today such as racism and food banks. Some people commented that it was nice to see the play as it makes them feel less alone with their anxieties and traumas.
