The “C” A-B-C-D-E primary and secondary approach should be used throughout.
Note
The instructor shall: Explain and demonstrate (while seeking the participants’ understanding throughout: a. circulation - assessment techniques a.i skin colour and temperature a.ii capillary refilling time. a.iii pulse b. correct use and interpretation of a pulse oximeter (SPO2/heart rate) c. external bleeding d. types (arterial, venous, capillary) e. treatment Use of appropriate first aid equipment where applicable Create exercises to facilitate participants’ practice on: a. first aid when a casualty is bleeding externally b. bandaging c. use of first aid equipment, including pulse oximeter Explain and demonstrate ((while seeking the participants’ understanding throughout) a. internal bleeding
