The instructor shall: Present:
a. indications for the application of medications in casualties according to national legislation b. contra-indications and possible side-effects of medication, e.g., analgesia, aspirin, glucose, glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) c. clarification of prerequisites for the application of medication according to national legislation or after the release through the emergency call physician Give constructive feedback on the participants explanations and practice The participants shall: Practise: a. safe and effective management of administering medication according to national best practices or through the use of medical teleconsultation b. indications for administering further possible medication c. contra-indications for administering further possible medication
ENHANCED FIRST AID REFRESHER EXERCISES (SCENARIO-BASED
TRAINING) 245 min.
The aim of this lesson is to enable the participants to assess, lead, assist and provide the correct enhanced first aid in an incident through scenario-based training by refreshing and building on participants previously acquired knowledge and skills.
It is recommended that participants should undertake a general warm up exercise before commencing scenario-based training and practise manual handling techniques throughout.
