Americans are living three decades longer than they did a century ago. 1 in 3 Americans is 50+ and nearly 1 in 7 is 65+ . 1 in 5 adults over 65 is a person of color, and that figure will more than double by 2050. The number of older adults 50+ will grow by at least 16 million over the next decade. Older Americans own 63% of U.S. financial assets. Americans are staying in the workforce longer. 71% of citizens 65 and older reported that they voted in the 2016 election.
