Quality & Safety Corner Accreditation Preparation
Sometime this year Ryde Hospital will undergo Accreditation. This will be a short notice accrediatation so we need to be ready. To help you all get prepared there are postcards with questions that accreditaors may ask you. There will be new ones in the foyer frequently.
Stroke Learning Day Our annual Stroke learning day, co-ordinated by our Stroke CNS2 Ms Simpy Arora, was held up in ELCA on April 9th. The multi-professional day addressed such diverse topics as: the specifics of strokes in different parts of the brain, the new technologies of clot removal, the advances in rehabilitation, the Australian Stroke Guidelines, a practical demonstration of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Score (NIHSS) stroke examination, and a review of the approach to the Dizzy patient, as well as research by Ms Arora in the ED into detecting posterior circulation stroke. Participants came from NSLHD and CCLHD were able to attend online, and the feedback reflected the appreciation of attendee for the efforts of our distinguished speakers. “It’s a pleasure to be able to take a day and concentrate on just one topic, especially as complex a topic as Stroke Care. I hope we can do this every year”.
