A STORY BY a SYCAMORE HIGH STUDENT...

Let’s talk trash! By Francesca Prado. Littering is on the rise and we are here to put a stop to it. Littering is a type of pollution and it affects the world around us. Littering, also affects the wild life around us, including the growth of crops, as well as our daily lives. No one enjoys living in filth, and right here in our own county, the issue of littering is becoming very noticable. What can you do to be active against littering? Recycle “recyclable waste” rather than throwing trash out of the window or dropping it as you walk. Wait until you get to the nearest trash can. Lastly, pick up trash you see laying around and speak with your parents or teachers about how being active against littering can help.

My name is Francesca Prado. I am a senior at Sycamore High School. The news has always been interesting to me. I found joy learning about the events taking place in the world around me. When I began to learn more about journalism and the jobs journalists do, it really stuck out to me. I realized that was the job for me. After graduation I hope to go to school for journalism and broadcasting

Let’s help this place we call home, and put an end to littering. Remember, don’t be a litter bug! What have you observed and what can you do about litter in this community? Submit a story for our next Let’s Talk Trash issue... e-mail to: debbiekeenan@earthlnk.net. Please be sure to send a photo and tell us about you. Deadline for entry for our March/April issue is February 5th.
