George
Christine Ferrato
Tell me again, George, how it’s gonna be
With the breeze in my hair And the sun on the shore I’m trying to find something to stop me from thinking And I just lost the station we had on before.
That diner must’ve been over a thousand degrees But the sausage was good And you made the waitress smile. I got a nice grease stain on both of my knees Guess I should change pants in a while. You don’t seem too tired for the sleep that we got I’ll pass you a coffee as soon as I’m able I can’t find the brownies your mother had made I probably left them back home on the table. I better call my aunt and make sure she’ll be home Sometimes she goes out after work with her friend I’ll tell her we’ll only be there for an hour or so. Don’t know when I’ll see her again. Tell me again, George, how it’s gonna be With the breeze in my hair and the sun on the shore I like the part where we walk through a vineyard I’ve never been in one before.
