Pelikaan contractors, which Sula hired to help his army against the CAR. Without the iphonium mines, Cordova would have little value to the United States, even when it had been an important local ally in World War II.

Scene #6 – Meanwhile at Osgood Reef Logistics Base, Cordovan Archipelago

After speaking to Sula, Admiral Jorge Bautista, the highest-ranking individual in the small Cordovan Navy, spoke to a gathered collection of his fellow officers. He stood on the deck of the former USS Tornado (PC- 14) Cyclone -class patrol vessel, which now served as the Cordovan Navy’s flagship. The admiral had gathered his remaining warships at Osgood Reef, which served as an important outpost for the collection of islands that made up Cordova because it sat near recently discovered oil and gas fields. Since the sudden strike against the fleet by unknown drone swarms and unmanned speedboat drones, they had struggled to protect the country. Here, at an improvised logistics base built around three ancient WW2-era American LSTs (landing ship tank) beached on the reef, a cargo ship acting as support vessel, along with several equally ancient-looking rusting forts that protected against threats, he had a stable place to gath-

er his thoughts and weigh his options for a little while until the war found them. Whatever he was going to do now, well it had to count since his coun- try felt doomed and everyone’s face showed their anxiety. Still, he did his best to inspire them. Sula’s words sent him into action, though he had thought they would have more time to plan.
