mask. Unquestionably, the inscriptions on the mask are intriguing to the common person, but they also represent a belief in a religious way of life. To elaborate further, this manner of life was widespread and practiced universally by centuries of Egyptians. So, to understand the religion is a way to understand the history of these ancient people. Once a person re- searches the meaning of the gold and the inscriptions, they can start to un- derstand the religion. In addition, knowledge gained of the history of Tut’s heretic father can give explanation for the reused objects manipulated and joined together to form the burial mask. Although the ancient Egyptians believed that the tombs of their diseased should never be disturbed, there is evidence of Nefertiti’s and possibly Amenhotep’s artifacts being used for the young Pharaoh Tut’s mask and cache of treasures.

To explore another angle, wars were mostly fought for land in ancient Egyptian times, but Tut’s father created an in- ternal war on religions within his own country. The people responded with much distain for him and his religion. After Akhenaten’s death, his religion, legacy and most of his artifacts were destroyed. The history and artifacts of Aten-Ra would be buried in the sands of Egypt for centuries until the year 1907 with the discovery of Akhenaten’s tomb KV55.
