somebody’s going to hurt them. For example, the children now will have a full pantry and fridge of food from which they can eat. They also now have a closet and or a dresser full of clothes. Another example is the child will no longer look over their shoulder every second of every day because they no longer must worry about their abuser getting to them. The final example is they no longer must be a babysitter for their biological parents because they’re drunk or high. They can finally be a child. The child can now play with their toys and make messes like most children can do. The child no longer has to make sure their parents are eating and drinking to get the alcohol or drugs out of the parent’s system. Each of these children is important and deserves to be loved and feel they are taken care of. The most important thing that foster parents and adopted parents don’t realize they are doing for each of these children is choosing the child and giving them a second chance. They’re also giving them a chance to make new memories that are happy and safe memories. Finally, they’re giving the child a safe place to call home and not fear.
