immediately knew something was wrong. “Oh jeez, what’s wrong?” Ann asked. Sara told her that everything that day had been going wrong and she was just having a bad vibe about the trip. Ann froze for a moment. Again, something was telling her the same thing, but she did not want to have this trip ruined. Ann and Sara agreed that maybe their fears were simply leaving their responsibilities for once. It had been so long since either of them had taken a full week off from work, so that must be where

this anxiety was stemming from. Sara told her she still wasn’t sure if that’s what it is, but she decided maybe Ann was right -- they should just forget it and enjoy their time together away from the rest of the world. After their phone call, Ann hung up and went straight back to work; the quick- er she got done, the quicker vacation would start.

Later, Ann returned home and started gathering the rest of her stuff together and going through her luggage, making sure she would have absolutely everything she needed. She did not want to be stuck in the middle of the woods for a week and realize she forgot something import- ant. Once she finished, she texted all the friends that were going camping with her to make sure they were also ready to leave bright and early in the morning; all but one was ready to go. Sara was still deciding what to bring, but swore she would be ready by the morning. Ann set her alarm for 5 am and off to bed she went. Ann couldn’t sleep that night. Probably due to excitement, she kept telling herself, but in the back of her gut that feeling was still there. 5AM came quick; she smacked the off button to her alarm and went downstairs to wait for her friend Julian to pick her up. Julian, Ann, and Sara had all been friends since middle school. Julian, being the responsible one through most
