likely due to the dense trees surrounding them, but they were hopeful that at the site service would return. Sara was adamant about calling a park ranger to let them know about the dog and the shoe. After about an hour and a half, they finally made it to the campsite. Jimmy threw his luggage on the ground and plopped down on top of his bag. “Oh thank God! I’m EXHAUSTED!” Stanley turned and looked at him and said, “Don’t get too comfortable; we have to set up camp before it gets dark!” They all took a five-minute rest and then paired off in groups to get prepared for dinner and bed. Ann and Sara went searching for firewood. Jimmy and Stanley started putting the tents together. Julian and Sally were to set things up and get ready to prepare dinner. While Ann and Sara were out looking for sticks, they started talking about how strange it was with the dog and the shoe: what if someone’s in trouble, or what if someone’s hurt? Then Sara asked, “What if this was the reason I’ve been so off about coming? What if something like a bear attacked her and it finds us next?” Ann replied, “Don’t be silly! Don’t you think if there

was a bear attack, we’d see a lot of blood?” She said this with a questionable fear stuck in her own head. Sara said, “You know, you’re probably right. I think I’m just tired and over-thinking. I am still going to check to see if I can get service somewhere, though, to let the park rangers know.” They finished gathering wood and started heading back to camp.

Once they got back to camp, Jimmy and Stanley had all 3 tents put togeth- er, Sally and Julian had a spot dug out for their campfire and all the cooking equipment set up, and they also put a few logs around the fire so everyone had a place to sit. Ann and Sara put some kindling down and lit that on fire,
