saw drag marks with a torn piece of Sara’s shirt on the brush. “She went that way!” shouted Julian. They all started grabbing some things and Jimmy looked at Ann and said, “Ann, you’re hurt; you and Sally should stay back and wait for us to get back.” Both Sally and Anne refused; Sally said, “Abso - lutely not! She is our friend; we need all hands on deck to help her!” They carefully followed the drag marks for about 10 minutes until the drag marks stopped. They stopped and thought about a game plan. Sally told them maybe she should go back and check to see if she was back and if she wasn’t, she and Ann should go back to the car and get help. Stanley told her that was a great idea but Ann declined. Ann said, “I was there when she got taken; I am Sara’s best friend! I am going to stay until we find her!” Jimmy said, “Ok, I will walk back with Sally. We will sit there for 20 minutes to see if she comes back and start to gather a supply bag so we can safely get back to the car. One of us is already missing; we do not need anyone else getting hurt.”
After Sally and Jimmy left, Ann, Julian, and Stanley cautiously looked around for clues. After a few minutes Ann noticed some broken tree branches like someone had walked through there multiple times. They walked a little further until there were no more broken branches. It was then that Julian noticed footprints in the dirt so they followed those. After what felt like forever, they noticed a little abandoned cabin. Ju-
lian went to go straight for the door until Stanley stopped him. Stanley said, “Wait, this could be a trap; they could know that we’d come for her. We need to do this quietly and smartly.” Ann agreed. They slowly split up and walked around the cabin to see if they could find anything strange. That was when Julian noticed a wire on the ground that he would have never seen if it wasn’t for a leaf that got caught on it. Julian showed Ann and Stan- ley and that was when they knew this wasn’t going to be easy.
