Julian saw a broken window and said that he was go- ing to quietly remove the glass and sneak in. Julian peaked into the house with his flashlight and then jumped through the window, while Ann and Stanley waited for him to investigate. That was when Ann saw a light coming from an outhouse. She walked up to the outhouse and saw that it looked like where the toilet part would be opened up to a secret passage. So Anne sneaked back over to Stanley to tell him what she found. As she was telling him, Julian came back to the window to tell them both that the house was empty. He said there was nothing in it or signs that anyone had been in it recently. Then Ann told him what she had found so they walked over to the
outhouse. They slowly opened the hidden door and quietly walked down this dirt path into the ground. There were all these cheap old ropes leading the way. The path was long and narrow. As they continued down the path, they started to hear talking. There were a few people that they could hear. The closer they got, the clearer the voices became. One of the men spoke with a small voice: “I don’t under- stand why you guys keep doing this; they don’t deserve this! They seem like a nice group of people!” Another man with a deep husky voice replied, “What are you, better than us? Should we come after you next?” Another one laughed, “Yeah! Should we come after you next, loser!” The first man didn’t reply. “Now come on boys, we got some more stuff to take care of!” Ann, Julian, and Stanley heard them start walking in their direction, so they quickly ran down the path and back outside. They sneaked into the aban- doned house and hid until they heard them leave. Stanley said, “That first guy kind of sounded familiar, didn’t he?” and Julian responded with, “Yeah, but it’s strange that he seems to be against whatever it is that they’re doing?” Suddenly the men emerged, “This is going to be fun now; they all know something’s going on so they’re going to be on high alert! I love me a good challenge!”
