Golf skills raises $2250 for CHEO

Country meets Rock & Roll at the Russell Fair

Musical entertainment is free all weekend with gate admission with the exception of the Friday night show, which is an age of majority event. This year’s Friday night entertainment fea- tures three great rock bands - AC/DC tribute band Great Scott opens for Absolute Journey Tribute and Fleetwood Mac Mania. Taking the stage on Saturday afternoon will be singer/songwriter Trevor Dubois. Saturday night will feature Sam Timmins and her powerhouse vocals with band Sticks ‘n Stones, guaranteed to get the party going with old and new country and classic party tunes. Dance the afternoon away on Sunday as you are entertained by country singer Phil Denault with special guests four-time Canadian grand masters fiddle champion Louis Schryer and country singer and song writer Nancy Denault.

From September 8 to 11, people from all over can attend the 158 th Russell Fair where countrymusic will bemeeting rock & roll. The Russell Agricultural Society is putting an all weekend, non-stop entertainment for everyone to enjoy. The Oasis Mini Golf and Driving Range recently hosted its second annual Golf Skills competition on August 13 and 14. The event was held as a fundraiser for CHEO Foundation while also testing five distinct golf-related skills. An amount of $1250 was raised with Scotia Bank Casselman adding an additional $1000 for a grand total of $2250. NOTICE OF STUDY COMMENCEMENT LAMADELEINE SANITARY PUMPING STATION MUNICIPAL CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT

AVIS DE LANCEMENT D’ÉTUDE STATION DE POMPAGE SANITAIRE LAMADELEINE ÉVALUATION ENVIRONNEMENTALE MUNICIPALE

The Township of Russell (Township) has retained the services of McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers Ltd. (McIntosh Perry) to carry out a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for a proposed sanitary pumping station to be located within Omer Park at the corner of Lamadeleine Blvd. and St. Jean Baptiste Street. The proposed sanitary pumping station will service a new gravity sanitary sewer to be constructed on Lamadeleine Blvd. from St. Jean Baptiste Street to St. Augustin Road. The intent of the proposed design is to upgrade Lamadeleine Blvd. to municipal services. A key map indicating the location of the study area is attached.

La municipalité de Russell a retenu les services de McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers Ltd. pour effectuer l’évaluation environnementale municipale pour une station de pompage sanitaire prévue dans le parc Omer, à l’intersection du boul. Lamadeleine et de la rue St Jean Baptiste. La station de pompage sanitaire prévue se rattachera à une conduite gravitaire de l’égout sanitaire qui sera construite le long du boul. Lamadeleine, entre la rue St Jean Baptiste et le chemin St Augustin. L’intention du projet proposé est d’améliorer le boul. Lamadeleine en y instaurant des services municipaux. Veuillez vous référer au plan de la région à l’étude pour connaitre l’emplacement du projet.

The design is following an approved planning process under the‘Municipal Class Environmental Assessment’ document (2007 and 2011, as amended) as a Schedule ‘B’Project.

Le projet suit un processus de planification conforme aux projets de groupe « B » tel que défini dans le document « Évaluation environnementale municipale » (octobre 2000, ainsi modifié en 2007 et 2011).

Input and comments are invited for incorporation into the planning and design of this project and will be received until September 12, 2016 . Subject to comments received and the receipt of necessary approvals, the Township of Russell intends to proceed with the planning and design as defined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process.

Les membres du public sont invités à nous faire parvenir leurs commentaires pour l’intégration dans la planification et conception de ce projet. Ces commentaires seront reçus jusqu’au 12 septembre 2016 . Sous réserve des commentaires reçus et de l’obtention des approbations nécessaires, la municipalité de Russell a l’intention de procéder à la planification et la conception de ce projet tel que défini dans le processus d’évaluation environnementale municipale.
