Questions From the Board
What can we expect from a savings standpoint using your company?
Through national purchasing power, clubs typically see 5–20% savings on everyday purchases and 30–40% or more on larger capital items such as maintenance equipment. KemperSports remains vendor-agnostic, allowing department leaders to maintain preferred relationships while benefiting from improved pricing.
What is your standard contract length, and what are the specific terms and penalties for early termination by either party?
Our standard contract term is five years, with termination without cause available after the third year. This structure allows sufficient time to transition and stabilize operations. Over the past five years, KemperSports has maintained a 99% client retention rate, with the only termination resulting from a property sale.
How are capital expenditure projects identified, budgeted, and approved? What is your role versus the owner's role in this process?
Capital projects are identified collaboratively and maintained on a prioritized list shared with the Board. All capital expenditures above a defined threshold require Board approval. Approved projects are incorporated into the annual budget, with additional communication if unforeseen needs arise. Final authority always remains with the Board.
How do reciprocals work?
Royal Oaks would have the option to join KemperCollection, KemperSports’ reciprocal program. Participation is a Board decision and requires accepting reciprocals in order to provide reciprocal access for Royal Oaks members. All reciprocal play is controlled by the host club and tracked to ensure balanced participation. More information on KemperCollection can be found at www.KemperCollection.com What is your policy regarding the retention of our current staff, particularly key personnel like the General Manager and Head Superintendent? Who has the final authority on hiring and firing? Our goal is to retain all existing staff and provide stability unless otherwise directed by the Board. KemperSports may hire non-managerial roles as needed, while senior leadership hiring decisions are coordinated with and approved by the Board.
