TURNOVER IS DOUBLING YEAR ON YEAR FOR THE DUNGANNON BUSINESS, DRIVEN BY GROWING DEMAND FOR RENEWABLES, DATA CENTRES AND PHARMA PLANTS ACROSS EUROPE AND NORTH AMERICA… Precision Switchgear and Controls: Pioneering growth and global reach in an expanding market
Over the past 12 years, Precision Switchgear and Controls has strategically positioned itself as a leader in the switchgear industry, catering to a growing international client base with innovative solutions and a comprehensive product portfolio. Founded to meet the increasing demand for motor control centres and switchgear, particularly in the burgeoning data centre and renewables sector, the company has solidified its reputation for quality and adaptability. Precision has expanded in line with its business growth and now boasts a team of 35, including a mix of junior and senior design engineers, estimating engineers and a skilled workshop workforce of 25 operatives.
Company Directors Michael Connolly and Peter McKearney recognised the untapped potential for specialised switchgear services tailored to data centre infrastructure, renewables and pharma sectors, and set about building a company to be a strategic supply chain partner within those sectors. The directors are backed by a growing employee workforce, led by General Manager Paul Carolan, who also has extensive experience in global manufacturing markets. “Our company was established to support the demand from Irish contractors working across Europe for main distribution boards, low voltage distribution, PDUs and AGSs, specifically for the data centre market,” said Michael. “Many of our current clients
have been with us since our early days in 2012.” In 2018, to accommodate its expanding operations, Precision moved to custom- built premises in Dungannon, equipped with cutting-edge CNC copper and Perforex machinery. The company has secured certifications as a CUBIC Modular System manufacturer and Schneider Electric panel builder, further establishing its credibility within the industry. “Our turnover has consistently doubled year on year,” said Michael. “Last year alone, we exported to over 10 countries across Europe and North America.” Precision has expanded its scope to include energy solutions through partners and Scada systems, tapping into the growing hydrogen and renewable energy
“Clients appreciate the access they have to senior management.”
