SGP Launches Program To Expand Certification
The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) has announced a pilot project to expand its certifica- tion program beyond the United States and Canada. SGP has been successfully holding all audits virtually for more than a year. Using this method, the organization can expand in- ternationally, allowing printers and industry suppliers worldwide to achieve SGP certification. The SGP certification pilot program will be launched in October 2021 with the next revision of the SGP certification criteria, which is adopted after a public review process every five years. More program details, including the application for pilot testing, will be re- leased in August 2021. GEW Makes 20,000th Installation UV curing system provider GEW has reached a ma- jor milestone by fitting its 20,000th UV curing system. System number 20,000 is a 35cm width, four lamp configuration of GEW’s GD3 lampheads, which were retrofitted to a Gallus Labelfire 340 press at FlexON’s label printing facility in Vestec, Czech Republic. Brook + Whittle Acquires Digital Label Solutions Brook andWhittle Holding Corp.has acquired Digital Label Solutions (DLS), based inYorba Linda, California. Brook + Whittle is majority owned by private equi- ty firm Snow Phipps Group. The acquisition furthers Brook and Whittle’s presence on the West Coast, fol- lowing the firm’s previously announced acquisitions of Label Impressions in June 2020 and Tri Print in Oc- tober 2020. The DLS acquisition is the seventh add- on transaction for Brook +Whittle since Snow Phipps’ initial investment in October 2017. Phoseon Joins Sustainable Packaging Coalition Phoseon Technology has been accepted as a mem- ber of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. Phoseon has joined other companies within the Coalition that are dedicated to creating more sustainable packaging that is good for the environment while being practical for people. The Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) is a mem- bership-based collaborative that believes in the power of industry to make packaging more sustainable.
