Every day nine children are bereaved of a parent or sibling in South Australia.
Each year AnglicareSA holds specialised FREE Star Bear weekend camps for children 5-17 years who have lost a parent, sibling or significant person. The camps help children understand that grieving is a normal part of life and assist them to learn how to cope with their grief. No other program like this exists in South Australia and our camps are widely sought after. However, AnglicareSA receives no government funding for this program. $ 1000 Will go towards the total camp venue hiring costs
$ 500 Will pay for the Star Bear souvenirs for each child to take home $ 50 Will buy the memory box used to store mementos of a loved one
$ 250 Will pay for training, compulsory checks and support for camp volunteers
$ 100 Will pay for catering for 2 children throughout the weekend
$ 20 Will buy craft materials for a child to decorate the memory box
