Purpose:
• Provide SERC System Operators with a forum for networking with operators from across the SERC Region and sharing best practices • Develop SERC System Operators knowledge and skills using relevant scenarios modeled onanoperator training simulator • Provide SERC System Operators with effectivetraining in normal and emergency operations, operator communication and collaboration and situational awareness • Assist SERC System Operators in maintaining their NERC Certification through the award of approved continuing education hours

Speaker Biographies
Bradley Burns - Entergy Operational Readiness Bradley has been working in the electric industry for the past 8 years. He started with Entergy as a Distribution Field Engineer for almost 3 years before transitioning into Operational Readiness. Since joining Operation Readiness, he has had a role in several different responsibilities from model development/accuracy to Next Day operation preparedness. For the past 3 years Bradley has been the Reliability Engineer for the Texas-Lake Charles area of Entergy.
Bradley has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas in Electrical Engineering.
Brian Stockdale - CAISO Brian has been a Grid Operations Manager for one year at the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). He has been with the ISO for 11 years. His experience at the ISO includes Operations Change Initiative Specialist and Trainer, Generation Dispatcher, Lead Transmission Dispatcher and Transmission Dispatcher. Prior to him joining the CAISO, he spent 10 years with Southern California Edison (SCE). There, he worked his way up from meter reader to substation switchman, dispatcher, transmission dispatcher, and power system operations specialist. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and kayaking with his two sons.

Corey Sellers - Southern Company Corey Sellers is the General Manager of Transmission Policy and Services / Energy Policy with Southern Company based in Birmingham, AL. In this role Corey is responsible for strategic policy activities related to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and wholesale transmission customer service through the administration of Southern Companies’ Open Access Transmission Tariff.
Corey began his career with Southern Company as a cooperative education student in 1993. He has held various positions during his career including roles in Energy Management System Services, Generation IT, Energy Trading, Transmission, and as the Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer. Corey attended the University of Alabama where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. Originally from Dora, AL, Corey and his wife Leigh Ann live in their hometown and enjoy spending time with their two daughters, Brooke and Braden.
Gwen Frazier – Georgia Power Gwen Frazier was named General Manager of Power Delivery Operations at Georgia Power in January 2021. She has worked with Southern Company for over 38 years and leads the team responsible for the reliable operation of the transmission and distribution grids for customers while supporting Power Delivery construction, generation, and maintenance activities. Gwen began her career with Alabama Power Company as a Transmission co-op student while attending Auburn University, working in Distribution following graduation with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. She was the first female chosen for Alabama Power’s Masters in Electrical Engineering Program at the University of Alabama. Gwen transferred to Southern Company Services working in both Transmission Planning and Bulk Power Operations. Gwen was also the Manager of the Gulf Power Control Center and Georgia Power. Gwen grew up in Birmingham and lives in Newnan, GA, with her dachshunds, Eva and Abby. Activities closest to her heart include establishment of an endowed memorial scholarship in Special Education at the University of Alabama in honor of her son, Matthew, and the Gwen & Matthew Frazier Endowed Scholarship in Engineering at Auburn. She also sponsors a horse, Shadow, at the Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Center in Guyton, GA in his memory.

Joseph Rushing - PJM Joe is a Reliability Engineer at PJM, performing near-term and real-time reliability analysis as a PJM operator. During his 11 years at PJM, Joe started a three year rotational program in 2011 through the Markets, Operations, and Planning divisions. While in Real-time Market Operations from 2014 to 2016, Joe worked with PJM’s Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) tools and Locational Marginal Pricing verification process. From 2016 to 2021, Joe was a Senior Engineer in PJM’s Interregional Market Operations department, where he focused on interregional congestion management and represented PJM in the Congestion Management Process (CMP) Working Group and Interchange Distribution Calculator (IDC) Working Group. In February 2020, he assume the role of Chair in the IDC Working Group. Joe holds a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan Technological University in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, with a certificate in Electric Power Engineering. He also has a Master’s in Business Administration from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Joe enjoys spending time with his family of four, the outdoors, sports, and home projects.
Kristen Bove - E-ISAC Kristen is the Manager of the E-ISAC Physical Security Analysis Team. In this capacity, she directly engages with asset owners and operators on a daily basis to provide high-quality, timely, reliable analysis and context regarding physical security and industry trends, emerging tactics, techniques, procedures, and relevant threat actor behaviors. Prior to becoming manager, she served as Principal Analyst for the E-ISAC physical security team. Before her role at the E-ISAC, Kristen’s prior experience involved working with a variety of public and private sector organizations to provide strategic analysis and risk management solutions for critical infrastructure. This included working as an analyst for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Office of Infrastructure Protection (now known as Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), where she was responsible for the developmentand implementation of national risk mitigation programsprimarily focused on the Dams and Energy Sector. Kristen has a Master’s Degree in Politics, Security and Integration from University College London, a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Arizona State University, and is also certified as an Insider Threat Program Manager (ITPM) from CarnegieMellon University.

Pat Everly - OES-NA, LLC Pat Everly is the president of OES-NA, LLC, which is a training-consultant company. He has over 40 years serving many roles in the electric industry. Pat started his career with Philadelphia Electric Company and spent 11 years in nuclear and fossil generation. Upon leaving PECO, Pat moved on to the PJM Interconnection as a System Operator and eventually the Operations Training Supervisor. Pat left PJM in 2001 to fill the newly createdNERC CertificationManager position. In this role, he was responsiblefor the administrativeduties for the NERC, WECC,and PJM certificationprograms.In 2003, heresignedhis position at NERC to startOES-NA. Pat has previously servedsystem operators as: Vice Chair - NERC ExaminationWorkingGroup,Vice-president andTreasurerfor APDA – NortheastArea,and is currentlytheChair for theIEEE Working Group for System Operator Training. Pat has been a guest speaker at previous Short Courses, American Power Dispatcher Association Meetings, the IEEE and various Regional seminars aroun.und North America Patrick Stier - SERC Patrick Stier is a Senior Reliability and Security Advisor at SERC Reliability Corporation. Mr. Stier has 34 years in the security industry as a National Security leader, specializing in high-profile technical security, risk management, financial leadership, operational efficiency, and crisis management. Prior to joining SERC, Mr. Stier served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Secret Service, providing physical and technical security for numerousU.S. Presidents and Foreign Heads of State to include over 1200 differentprotectedvenues andNational Special SecurityEvents. Mr. Stier has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration. He also holds Board Certifications in Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM), Certified Technical Investigator (CTI), Network Intrusion Investigator (NITRO) and Enterprise and Broadband Network Administration.

Ryan Guest – E-ISAC Ryan Guest is a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst with over 13 years of experience focused in areas of threat intelligence, threat analysis, and incident response. Ryan joined the E-ISAC Threat Intelligence team in March of 2021 with the goal of assisting the electricity sector with reducing risk and improving cyber situational awareness through information sharing and analysis. Current responsibilities include research on the evolving cyber threat landscape, supporting electricity sector member requests for information, and contributing to the E-ISAC’s mission to spread broad cyber situational awareness. Prior to joining the E-ISAC, Ryan worked as part of the Technology Security team at Southern Company where, as a senior analyst, he was responsible for planning, collection, triage, production, and dissemination of Cyber Threat Intelligence tactical and operational deliverables. Ryan has a Bacholer’s of Science degree in Information Security from American Intercontinental University and holds several industry recognizable SANs Institute certifications.
Sharon Darwin – Southern Company Sharon began her career with Southern Company in 2011 as co-op student in Distribution. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama in 2013. Upon graduation, Sharon became a Field Test Engineer in Protection & Controls. In 2017, she moved to Bulk Power Operations and earned her RC certification. As part of BPO, she has supported the RC desk, set TTCs, and served as the Southern Company Transmission Outage Coordinator prior to moving to the Training organization earlier this year .

Scotty Campbell - Entergy Scotty has been in the electrical industry for over two decades. After spending 2 years with supply chain, He moved into real time operations working in distribution and transmissioncontrol centers in the Entergy footprint for twelve years. Recently, Scotty has been passing on his knowledge and lessons learned to new operators in the Entergy TransmissionControl Centers in a training role.
Trevor Hines - MISO Trevor Hines, manager of South Region Reliability Coordination at MISO based in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a dedicated professional with 16 years of experience in the energy industry. He joined MISO as an intern in 2007 and has worked in various roles throughout his career, including control room operator, technical trainer, MISO South integration team, GridEx coordinator and outage coordination. Trevor, a native of Carmel, Indiana, earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington. He holds a North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Coordination certification andis atrained DevelopmentDimensionsInternational facilitator.
