CONGRATULATIONS, CLARE AND DANIEL!

This past month, my daughter Clare and Daniel Pointer were married. I had a limited role in the wedding ceremony — my job was to walk Clare down the aisle at our home parish, St. Joan of Arc Church. As Clare and I walked side by side, time stood still. A tremendous feeling of gratitude came over me. I was grateful that God had brought together this terrific young couple. I was grateful for my parents, Tom and Joanne, and Michelle’s parents, Tony and Carmella, and how much each couple had sacrificed their lives for others … for family. I was grateful for Michelle and how during our marriage, we had focused on Clare and her siblings. I was grateful for Bob and Carol Pointer and how they had raised such a fine son. All those thoughts raced through my mind during that short but emotional walk down the aisle.

At the reception, I gave a toast to the new couple. Here is an excerpt of that toast.

As you begin your life together, please know these things:

God holds you both in his hands today, tomorrow, and every day … always. Your mother and I, Emma and Tom, Kate, Will, Margaret Mary in heaven, and Nora and Johnny are with you always.

All of your extended family, your grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and great friends will support you always.

Clare, your name comes from the county of your Irish ancestors. I know all the ancestors of both Clare and Daniel are looking down from heaven and raising a glass to them with the following wish: May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warmly on your face, May the rains fall softly upon your fields, and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

If you rely on God for strength and guidance, you will have infinite faith, hope, and charity in your life. God will help you to be constantly generous and allow you to be open to relationships. God will lead you where you need to go. Your return will be an unscripted, crazy, happy life filled with deep relationships. Walk through life knowing that you are never alone and pass it on to others.

Gratefully,

Take chances and do not be afraid. All of your ancestors in heaven walk with you both.

– Joe and Michelle Shannon

We love you both with all our hearts.

When this happens, shoulder bursitis can set in.

Shoulder bursitis can happen when a vaccine injures the bursa in the shoulder. The bursa is a fluid-like sac in between the shoulder joints and tendons that helps the shoulder joint move and bend without it being painful. When a vaccine is administered here, this can cause the bursa to grow and become inflamed, causing the hallmark pain that is associated with it. So, what should you be on the lookout for when you suspect a vaccine-related shoulder bursitis diagnosis? Here are a few signs. • Shoulder pain within 48 hours: The pain can be present right away, but typically, the pain will slowly get worse over 48 hours. Over weeks and months, your shoulder pain will persist despite treatment.

physical therapy, steroid shots, and prescription pain medication. If these treatment options don’t work, your doctor may recommend surgery. If you have any questions about SIRVA, feel free to text us at 312-847-4248 . You can also call our office anytime. –Jon Svitak
