S IX R EA SO N S For Sending a Boy to a Christian Boarding School

1. The highly secular character of pub lic school instruction frequently impairs the religious training of home and church. 2. Many parents dread the laxness of local standards in social intercourse with the prevalence of unprofitable amusements and late hours. A t boarding school, how ever, where there is continual personal supervision, he conforms more readily to the higher standards. 3. During adolescence, a boy may have a better chance of making educational progress if l he is in a boys' school with a majority of men as teachers. 4. In the average high school compara tively few boys are preparing for college. In boarding school a boy has the encour agement that comes from focusing the at tention of all students and teachers on the subjects that give thorough college preparation. 5. The public school frequently fails to educate the gifted boy to the limit of his capacity. The work in the boarding school offers a real challenge to his ability and sends him to college with superior prepa ration. 6. A boy of average ability may do poor work in public school for any one of a number of reasons. In boarding school with smaller classes, closer contact with the masters, and more supervised ** study, he may find himself and enter college well prepared.
