hesitations she had about the Melaleuca store disappeared. “That was probably my biggest turning point,” she says. “Every time you try a different product, your belief in the company grows,” Eric explains. “That’s what happened with Lori. She wasn’t willing to switch her skin care. Then she tried one skin care product—liked it—and then tried another, and another, and another.” The Boutiellers had both found important solutions to their problems through Melaleuca products. And they credit the strength of their business to the passion they feel for the products. “Personal experience changes your tone,” Eric says. “When you’re talking with people, they hear that conviction, and they know that you mean what you say. You’re trying to help them get better, safer products.” Eric coaches his team to do their homework. “I think soaking up the information and being willing to look deeper into Melaleuca helps you feel good about representing the company,” he says. “Then you can speak with a ton of conviction and confidence. You may be able to fake confidence, but you cannot fake conviction.”
Both Lori and Eric Boutieller have strong memories about the moments they fell in love with different Melaleuca products. “I remember walking out of the bathroom, holding Tub & Tile up in the air,” Eric says, “and telling Lori, ‘This stuff is amazing!’ It works great, and I can clean without having to worry about my asthma.” Both Eric and Lori were careful shoppers because they each had health conditions that made them sensitive to certain chemicals. They were already in the process of trying to detox their home when they were introduced to Melaleuca. “We knew the toxic load was bad,” Eric says. So he purchased a starter pack and immediately began trying all the products. Lori, on the other hand, was a little more hesitant. “I didn’t want to change my skin care,” she says. “I had already done my research and was pretty happy.” But as her experience and satisfaction with other Melaleuca products grew, she eventually became more curious. Lori ended up loving Sei Bella® products, and any
