EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 4 N EW ADVANCEMENTS
Cynthia Taylor-Iwankow MANITOBA Building Toward a Brighter Future
“Of course you’re going to hear the word no ,” she says. “That’s part of this business! It’s totally normal and okay. Don’t let that stop you. If you stay consistent and refuse to let those get you down, you’ll eventually hear a yes .” Building hand in hand, especially at first, is incredibly important. Every new person on Cynthia’s team is guided through the process so that no one feels isolated. “Remember, this business has always been about helping others,” she says. That’s why when other Melaleuca business builders surpass her in status and income, she cheers them on. “My team is exceptional,” she says. “Everyone is pushing themselves to do their very best, and I feel so proud.” As you add to your contact list, Cynthia suggests thinking of potential business builders who have a service mindset and already love helping others. And don’t leave off the introverts! “I know this business tends to attract outgoing personalities, but it’s amazing how great the quiet, soft-spoken people can be in leadership roles,” she shares. “They’re usually such good listeners, and that skill lends itself so well to knowing what people need to thrive in their individual businesses.” Thriving is what Cynthia is currently doing as she focuses on the future. “The amazing thing about this business is that it allows people to create a legacy,” she says. “And I’m going to continue building mine with Melaleuca.”
It took Executive Director 4 Cynthia Taylor-Iwankow some time to realize that Melaleuca was a viable business opportunity, but once she did, it was well worth the wait! “At first I thought Melaleuca was too good to be true: the prices were low, and the business opportunity was promising,” she says. Then Cynthia opened a Home Conversion Pack and experienced the products for herself. “My whole family was like, ‘Holy smokes, this stuff is amazing!’” she recalls. She looked into the business side and realized that Melaleuca was built on a solid foundation—something she had never experienced in her 17 years of working in the direct sales industry. “Melaleuca’s customer retention rate was a huge wake-up call for me,” she says. “Melaleuca isn’t a niche; we truly offer something for everyone. The bottom line is that I believe in these products and in this company's mission.” Sharing that belief has become second nature for Cynthia, who takes every rejection with grace and encourages her team to build resilience as they continually engage in the Seven Critical Business-Building Activities.
