Ce règlement remplace le règlement original 1998-02, qui traitait des services bilingues pour le canton. Le nouveau règlement garantit que tous les rapports administratifs présentés au conseil sont rédigés en français et en anglais, et que tous les règlements et décisions politiques approuvés par le conseil seront mis à la disposition du public en français et en anglais. He should be doing his job protecting our interests.” First elected to council in 2022 at the age of 23, Stewart hopes to be the voice of a riding he feels has been largely ignored by the Ford government. “How is he supposed to protect us against tariffs when he hasn’t made an effort to visit our riding in seven years since being the Premier of Ontario?” said Stewart. “He has never set foot in our region.” Stewart said that while he’s been knocking on doors, longtime PC voters have expressed frustration with Ford calling an election so soon “just to stay in power.” i/POFPGUIJTNBLFTTFOTF*GIFUSVMZ wants to fight for us, he has a year and a half of a majority mandate to do that,” added the Liberal candidate. Ontario Premier Doug Ford has made it official: Ontarians will head to the polls sooner than expected. Premier Ford said dropping the writ on a snap election is necessary to stave off a looming trade war between the United States and Canada. Ford is seeking a third consecutive majo- rity government for his Progressive Conserva- tives (PC) after substantial victories in 2022 and 2018. He stated that he wants to win “the largest mandate in Ontario’s history” in the February vote. “I wholeheartedly believe that our govern- ment (the PC Party of Ontario) is the best chance to protect the people of Ontario against the Trump administration,” said Stéphane Sarrazin in an interview with The Vision just two days before Ford called the snap election. “I am running again, and I believe that we will be there for the people of Ontario for four more years. I want to continue my work to help build the strong economy and job protection our government has built.” Sarrazin was first elected as MPP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell in 2022, after previously serving as the mayor of Alfred and Plantagenet and the warden of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. Les entreprises de Prescott et Russell affichent un optimisme marqué quant à leur avenir, selon un récent sondage mené par la Société de développement de Prescott et Russell (SDPR). Ce sondage, qui a recueilli les réponses de 55 entreprises et entrepreneur(e)s locaux, offre un aperçu des perspectives économiques, des défis et des opportunités de croissance dans la région. La majorité des répondants proviennent de Casselman et de Clarence-Rockland, représentant chacun 20 % des réponses totales, suivis de Russell (18 %) et de Cham- plain (16 %). Ces entreprises ont exprimé une vision généralement positive, avec 67 % d’entre elles anticipant une croissance des revenus au cours de l’année à venir. Parmi elles, 50 % s’attendent à des augmentations modérées, tandis que 17 % prévoient des gains significatifs. Cet optimisme s’étend également aux projets d’investissement. Un impressionnant 87 % des entreprises ont déclaré avoir des objectifs clairs en matière de réinvestisse- ment et d’expansion. Parmi leurs priorités figurent la modernisation des installations, l’intensification des efforts marketing et l’investissement dans de nouveaux produits ou infrastructures numériques. Ces plans reflètent une communauté d’affaires ambi- tieuse et tournée vers l’avenir, prête à bâtir sur ses réussites.

Avec 82 % des répondants indiquant une stabilité dans leurs activités, Prescott et Russell semblent bien placés pour saisir les opportunités de développement écono- mique. Alors que les entreprises prévoient leur croissance et s’adaptent aux défis qui évoluent, la région est en bonne voie pour consolider sa réputation en tant que pôle d’entrepreneuriat et d’innovation.
Malgré ces tendances positives, des obstacles importants subsistent. L’infla- tion croissante, l’augmentation des coûts des intrants et les difficultés à recruter du personnel qualifié figurent parmi les défis les plus fréquemment cités, en écho aux préoccupations économiques nationales. Par ailleurs, 24 % des répondants ont décrit la gestion de leur trésorerie comme étant adéquate, plutôt que solide, soulignant un besoin d’amélioration en matière de résilience financière. L’emploi reste un point central pour de nombreuses entreprises, 29 % d’entre elles prévoyant d’embaucher du personnel au cours de l’année à venir. Cependant, 53 % ont reconnu rencontrer des difficultés à recruter des employés qualifiés, un défi qui pourrait freiner la croissance de certaines
