that things can change quickly based on a draw, the ground or a horse’s health. Along with Truck and Sharpie, she has a 6-year-old in her trailer who is getting some seasoning and a 10-year-old who is rehabbing. “I’m very blessed to have such nice horses. It’ll be a fun year,” Hillman said.

GRAND ISLAND, NE continued from page 24 second week of March, it quickly became a big-time stop for those that had their names in the hat. “The first and second barrels were only 16 feet off the walls,” Reinhardt said. “Remilee is a shorter horse, and her turning style allows her to be more agile in her turn. I don’t have to handle her very much. I don’t have to set her or rein her or pull her around a barrel or whip or kick. When she leaves the alley, she’s on a mission, and you just need to stay out of her way. “I’m not going to say she’s auto-pilot, but she’s very patterned. For no taller than she is, she has an incredibly big, long stride. She is explosive when she leaves a barrel, and she covers a lot of ground between them.” Remilee also has opened the door for Reinhardt to test the waters a little more this year. “I think I went to 35 rodeos last year,” she said. “Depending on what happens in the next few weeks, I may be going to 50-60 rodeos this year, some circuit rodeos this year and expanding the boundaries of some rodeos we didn’t go to last year. “I don’t have a plan in place yet. I think a person has to be pretty flexible and stay informed about what the changes are going to be.”
