SOCIAL ROUND-UP

The world has lost an amazing lady To me she was a mentor, a grandma, a teacher and most of all a friend It’s ironic but I’m sitting in the airport waiting to fly to a conference and speak to rodeo committees about producing rodeos and I’m just thinking about all the wisdom about the rodeo industry that Judy has imparted on me over

my past 20 years of knowing her I was still in high school when I got a call from the Kesler’s asking me to come and fight bulls for them I didn’t know nearly as much as I thought I did about how rodeo really worked at the time The Kesler’s took me under their wing They bought me dinner, got me hotel rooms, did my laundry, let me drive with them, made sure I was eating properly and staying out of trouble and I was even the babysitter for Chase and Kurtis on multiple occasions They quickly became my family out in the road and Judy always went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of My fondest memories of Judy are our early morning breakfasts Often times Judy and I would meet in the hotel restaurant and sit for a long time talking all things life and rodeo It was there that I really learned just how much knowledge about the business of the sport this lady really held Thinking back now it’s funny because I as a teenager still wet behind the ears and she was an icon in the sport but I just thought we were to friends sharing a coffee I can honestly say there have been many times over my career that I would call Judy and ask for her advise or just to find something out that I didn’t know She was one of my go to people I’m going to miss walking into the office at the rodeos and hearing her say “Hi Kyno what do you need and did you eat anything” Judy you really were one of the greats and easily one of my favourites My thoughts and prayers go out to the Kesler family Kynan Vine, Manager Calgary Stampede | March 7 Well this has been the most interesting and trying trip toTexas!!! Our Mother, Jacqueline McEntire, made that wonderful cross over into Heaven today She had a wonderful, full, healthy life and was absolutely ready to go The cancer might think it won the battle but we’re giving God all the credit on selecting the time for her to go home to Him She was ready to see our Daddy, her mama and daddy and all her family and friends Down here, Alice, Pake, Susie and I, grandkids and great grandkids all got to visit with her either in person or over the phone She left knowing how much she is loved and we all know how much she loved us We are very thankful for all the prayers, cards, calls, visits, the care-givers with their huge hearts, and the time God gave us with Mama Jackie, Jac, Ms McEntire, Mama, Mama Jac, Momo Jac, Grandma, Grandma Jac, whatever the title was at the time - she gave you her undivided attention We’re all going to miss her but we have so many wonderful memories Thank you Lord for that In lieu of flowers, the family lovingly asks that memorials be sent to the Reba McEntire Fund to benefit the Jacqueline McEntire Library Fund
