FBA Reports Increase In Q2 Box Shipments
US corrugated box shipments increased on an actual/av- erage-week basis in the 2nd quarter compared to the 1st, based on data from the Fibre Box Association. Shipments were 96.3 billion sq. ft., 3.2 percent more than 1st quarter’s 93.3 billion sq. ft. and up 1.1 percent versus 2nd quarter 2023’s 95.3 billion. On an average-week, with one more shipping day in the second quarter, June average-week shipments increased 1.9 percent year-over-year, May’s to- tal was up 0.7 percent year-over-year, and April’s dropped 4.0 percent year-over-year.
