ABOUT - Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) is a DoD and United States (U.S.) Coast Guard fee assistance program for eligible families who cannot access military-operated child care due to distance or waitlists. With fee assistance, a portion of your child care cost is paid to offset the costs of community-based care. The Navy Fee Assistance program also offers enhanced referrals to assist families in finding child care that meets their needs. This makes it easier for families to afford quality child care from local community providers.

If I accept an offer for MCCYN Fee Assistance, how do I find a provider?
There are a few ways you can find a child care provider:

For more information on provider eligibility requirements, visit: https://militarychildcare.com/NavyFeeAssistance • You can request an Enhanced Referral, which allows for a customized search for child care that both meets your family’s unique needs and also has current vacancies. How much fee assistance will I receive? Is it more expensive than care on the installation? Parent fees are calculated based on each family’s Total Family Income and aligned with the rates paid for on-installation care. A family's fee assistance benefit amount is the difference between the rate the community-based provider charges and their DoD parent fee. Families are responsible for their monthly DoD parent fee plus any additional cost if their provider charges more than the current provider rate cap.
