A far healthier and cost-effective solution is through physical therapy, and we are here for you at APM. Once upon a time, I worked in the Emergency Department. As you all know, I am a vertigo expert, and I once saw a young lady who had position vertigo. While positioning her for a vertigo treatment technique called the Epley Maneuver she rolled too far and was falling off the bed. I had two choices, let her fall or catch her. You know me, well enough. I caught her and my left lower back instantly locked up. I felt spasms shoot into my buttock and up my back, but I still couldn’t drop her. After yelling for a bit, someone came over and helped me. We got her up, and they wanted to give me a muscle relaxer and MRI my lower back. I politely refused, contacted my PT friend, and through on a TENS unit. Within 2 weeks I had minimal symptoms and was able to do anything I wanted without pain.

Well, to me at least, it means that some people have to consider back pain a chronic condition that lingers on and on, and even with fantastic physical therapy, maybe still only get down to a 1-2 out of 10 on the pain scale. For others, they may only feel it with specific tasks. Our goal is total resolution. Want to hear a scary fact? The average annual cost of dealing with back pain in the United States is $50 billion dollars. Unfortunately,
