We would like to invite you to our 2025 Annual Bull Sale & thank you for your interest in our cattle! This year’s set of bulls is what we believe is our best to date. They have performed extremely well over the past year, despite the drought conditions in the area. They have been grown slow & steady on a high roughage ration. We don’t push our bulls on feed, we want them to maintain their condition & stay sound so they can go out & work hard for you & hold up for years to come. The BW & WW posted in this catalog are Actual weights, not Adjusted. The Final Weight is the bulls’ weights adjusted for the sale date, based on their ADG. All bulls have been GGP (100K) tested to improve the accuracy of their EPDs. Our cattle are bred to be balanced in all traits, from their EPDs to their disposition, fertility, hardiness, carcass merit, phenotype, longevity, udder quality, feet & structural soundness, just to name a few. We don’t chase fads, we chase proven genetics that work. We believe cattle that are bred for balanced traits tend to stay in the herd longer and outperform those that are bred only for specific traits, but are lacking in others. They are more likely to be low-maintenance, problem free cattle. Our goal is to produce more consistent, efficient, productive, and practical cattle that will perform for the commercial rancher & excel in all aspects of the cattle industry. Welcome!

We invite you to join us for our Open House Day on April 17th, 11am-7pm. Bulls will be penned in the barn for viewing and a meal & refreshments will be provided for those who wish to come look through the lots before they close that evening. If you are unable to make it on the 17th, please give us a call & we can make arrangements to view the bulls prior to closing day. Thank you again for your interest in our cattle & our operation & we look forward to seeing you on the 17th!

-Agustus, Amy, Ott & Cleo Cross

Reference Sire for Lots 1-13

Pass It On is a well proven heifer bull with a long, deep-ribbed, wide body shape that shines through in his progeny. His calves have excellent vigor at birth, even on bitter cold nights. His first daughters in production have calved easily, are good mamas with plenty of milk, & are maintaining their body condition exceptionally well.

Reference Sires (for Lots 14-20)

5l Blockade 2218-30B

Lots 14-20 are all closely related & sired by 5L Blockade & his sons, 5L Body Builder & Cross Block Buster. We have A.I.d to Blockade & Body Builder for several years & have been very impressed with the calves out of both sires. They are thick-butted, wide topped, deep, heavy & always excel in the herd. The females are soft made, easy fleshing and good uddered. Block Buster, a home raised ET bull out of the 15 year old Basin Duchess 6151 cow, turned out to be a very well balanced bull & his progeny are performing very well, still showing every bit of the Blockade phenotype, while adding excellent calving ease & maternal traits into the mix.

Reference Sires (for Lots 21-23)

545 is one of our favorite herd sires to date. He is a true balanced bull in our opinion, that has done a lot of things right very consistently, in the 9 years we ’ ve used him. His daughters are hands down our favorite; beautiful, broody & productive cows, that have strong mothering ability, excellent udders & feet, and are extremely fertile. His sons are heavy scale smashers and have lots of style.

We have been very happy with the calves we ’ ve gotten out of Blazin Steel. Rock solid calving ease with a good length of spine. The daughters we have retained have become good solid cows for us.

We have A.I.d to Got R Done for a couple years now & so far we like what we see. His calves have nice phenotype and good traits across the board, & the females are good mothers with good feet & udders.

13

Reference Sire (for Lots 24-25)

The 2024 calves are our first out of Energize. He is a high accuracy proven sire in the breed with balanced traits across the board.

Reference Sire (for lots 26-34)

Oaklee is with no doubt our top Charolais Herd Sire. He is a gentle giant that stamps his calves with a ton of length, muscle pattern, and easy disposition. We have used him for 7 years now, and most of our ranch bulls are sons of him, & full brothers to many in this offering. The weaning weights on our commercial calves out of them are phenomenal: last year in dry range conditions they averaged 703 lbs on 3 truckloads of steers & 650 lbs on 3 truckloads of heifers! Oaklee Sons are proven to add pounds at weaning time!

Reference Sire (for lots 35-37)

Maximo is a well proven Ledger son from the Debryucker herd. He passes on the styling of the Ledger bull, nice heads, smooth shoulders, and a sleek pattern, yet adds width and volume. The daughters we have in production all milk well and are sound, fertile cows. The three sons in this sale are E.T. calves out of embryos that we purchased from Daren Statler at Desco Charolais. We retained every one of the female flush mates. They are extremely fancy.

Reference Sires (for lots 38-41)

Lots 38 & 39 are E.T. calves resulting from embryos we purchased from Daren Statler. Channel coupled with the great Fink Vanity 7548 cow produced some attractive carcass numbers.

Beef Maker was a herd sire for Honeyman Charolais coming from Schurrtop ’ s. The sons in this sale are out of some females we purchased from Honeyman ’ s dispersion sale in December of 2023.

22

Reference Sire (for lots 42-43)

Badge is a Lindskov Thiel bull that we used after seeing the results of his sire, Authority, in our herd. He offers a nice balance of of birth, weaning, yearling weights with a lot of style and eye appeal.

23

Reference Sire (for Lots 44-46)

We purchased Tanistry from the Debryucker Charolais 2022 bull sale for his thickness, fleshing ability, and impressive performance data. His progeny has not disappointed us in terms of body shape and thickness. Plenty of power and performance. His sons are recommended for use on mature females.

Reference Sire (Lots 47-48

48 Tank is a true big spread bull. His calves come easy and just get better with time. He has been great to use on first calf heifers & mature cows both, & has proven himself in all areas from calving ease to weaning & yearling weight, as well as carcass merit. We have kept multiple daughters out of him & they are great mothers with a deep, thick body shape & good udders.

47

25

Reference Sires (for Lots 49-51)

Affinity is a well proven calving ease A.I. sire from Lindskov Thiels . He has left some first round picks in the replacement heifer pen, & his sons are smooth made & well built.

A Select Sires bull that came from JMAR Genetics we sampled A.I. on first calf heifers. His calves came easy and have lots of body. Thick with a deep girth & soft flank.

Hooray was another herd sire at Honeyman Charolais. We were impressed with his calves at Ryan ’ s dispersion sale for their thickness and performance.
