Benefit ID Cards Cigna has transitioned to digital ID cards! Physical ID cards will no longer be mailed to you. Soon, you’ll even be able to add them to your Apple Wallet! Log in to your account at myCigna.com® or access the myCigna® App to download your cards or request a paper copy be mailed to your home. Additionally, Sun Life Dental and separate vision plans do not provide ID cards for participants. You will not have a unique subscriber ID, just a group number (929214 for dental). If you prefer to generate digital cards, you can do so at sunlife.com/account. For vision, your vision provider will be able to look up your benefits in the VSP Portal to verify coverage. Visit vsp.com or call 800-877- 7195 to find a VSP doctor line and simply notify the office that you are a VSP member. Not registered on myCigna? During our Health & Wellness Employee Survey, one recurring response was concerning doctors leaving the Cigna network. Unfortunately, this is not something Cigna alone faces. Hospitals and other providers always go through contract negotiations and an agreement is made before any patients become aware. This happens with all major insurance companies. Be advised, Cigna is continuing to negotiate rates with providers to bring more options back into their network. Unfortunately, another trend is that in-network mental health providers are becoming harder to find. Both Cigna and MyGroup (our EAP provider) are working behind the scenes to be sure accredited and licensed therapists are available to participants. To address these issues, our medical plan’s participants have access to MDLIVE. Unlike others, MDLIVE offers more than just “urgent care” visits. Under this benefit, you can see a primary care physician for preventive checkups as well as sick visits - on-demand - and 24/7/365! MDLIVE also offers Behavioral Health Care with access to psychiatrists and therapists, for talk therapy or psychiatry appointments. You can schedule the same provider for each session within Cigna’s network at no cost to you, with no copay or deductible to be met! While network issues have been a concern, MyGroup has recently partnered with Better Help to provide virtual visits.
