Ovia Irelandwelcomes new teammember

Ovia Ireland is delighted to welcome Armagh native, Jay White to the growing team. Jay takes up the role of Area Sales Manager covering Northern Ireland, Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan and Sligo regions. With seven years’ sales experience working with two of the industry’s leading electrical wholesalers, the married father-of-two is looking forward to working with the leading lighting manufacturer. Commenting on his new appointment, Jay said: “I am delighted to have joined such a forward-thinking company and the great team that they have both here in Ireland and the UK. WilliamCoatesM&ELtdbegins works at Belfast CityHospital

William Coates Mechanical and Electrical Engineers is delighted to have been appointed for the mechanical installation and refurbishment of the ultrasound and imaging department on the ground floor of the Belfast City Hospital Tower. The contract commenced in November 2021 with main contractor O’Hanlon Bros Construction Ltd. Works will include, strip out of existing services, plumbing works, ventilation, medical gas, air

conditioning and BMS. Final phase handover will take place in October 2022. The company received thanks for critical works carried out at the Nightingale Hospital in Belfast City Hospital during the height of the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. They were thanked by Chief Executive of Belfast Health and Social Care Trust for providing renal dialysis points, clinical sinks and staff showering facilities.

Successful career ahead for Sean

Sean Glen has recently taken up the appointment of Co-Director with RMG Electrical in Dublin. The company was formed in May of this year and has already completed two jobs for high-profile clients. In addition, the workforce has grown from three to 15 members with the company actively looking to recruit more staff. Sean began his career with CJK Electrical as a second-year apprentice. From there he left Ireland and took time out to travel around Australia returning to his home country in 2013. He was re-employed as an electrician with CJK and in 2015 was offered a Chargehand role where he learned from some of the best in the industry. In 2016 Sean accepted the role of Site Foreman and two years following this he decided he wanted to further his career and asked CJK about the possibility of further education. He attended

Dublin Business School studying an Advanced Diploma in Project Management and completed the course in 2019. Sean went on to commence his appointment as Project Manager for CJK before deciding he wanted to start his own venture on a new path and start-up his own business. Speaking to Ireland’s Electrical Magazine, Sean said: “My time with CJK was exceptional from day one and staff there treated me like family. I can’t thank everyone at CJK enough for the constant support and motivation throughout my career and to always exceed my expectations of myself.” RMG Electrical are keen to hear from new apprentices and electricians and anyone looking for a new challenge.
