Congratulations to AG Electrical (NI) Ltd which was voted as winner in the medium category of the Contractor Awards. The Newtownards firm headed up by Adam Gilmore was founded in 2009 and set the bar extremely high for the judging panel. AG Electrical delivers projects right across the UK and Ireland, retaining a strong family ethos with standards coming from a shared purpose and great team spirit. Completed works include projects with Belfast City Council and Belfast hotels; The Merchant, Europa and Bullitt. Judges remarked how they were impressed with AG Electrical’s submission for this category, sponsored by Specialised Fire & Security. The judging panel continued that Adam has detailed the ethos and philosophy which the business is committed to. Their submission suggests that the firm values their clients but accepts there will always be challenges within any working relationship. To combat these challenges, it strives to seamlessly resolve any issues to maintain an effective and efficient relationship. Included with its submission were numerous glowing testimonials alongside a detailed breakdown of a number of recent projects. The judges felt they were a very worthy finalist.
Winner of the Contractor of the Year in the small category was KMDL Engineering. The Belfast company offers a range of electrical services throughout Northern Ireland. Established in 2010, the company has carried out some notable projects to date. These include works at Ulster University, Coleraine, Queen’s University, Belfast, Ulster Independent Clinic and Ulster Hospital, Dundonald. The judging panel agreed that the company had a strong obligation to provide a quality service to clients, alongside a commitment to invest and develop its own workforce. KMDL prides itself on the ability to deliver completed projects from planning and construction stages to handover within timescale and budget as well as beyond customer expectations. It was noted that KMDL’s submission not only included a detailed run down of the company’s existence, but it also includes several client testimonials as well as examples and details and completed projects. Furthermore, judges felt the company showed a strong sense that it is committed to providing a quality service to all clients, alongside a commitment to invest and develop its workforce, which was also noted by the judging panel.
