Q. Bakersfield, Calif. "Do you be lieve that the United States can be seen in Biblical prophecy?" A. This is a question frequently asked. Perhaps it is because so many signs would signify the near ness of the Lord's return. In a study of Scripture, however, there is no direct reference to our country in the coming end times. Some be lieve the reference "isles of the sea" refers to America, but this is a continent and not an island. It is our conviction that this nation will become subject to the revived Ro man Empire led by the King of the West during the time of the Tribu lation. Q. San Diego, Calif. "Why was Moses kept out of the promised land for simply striking the rock?"
A. Never treat disobedience to Cod's Word lightly or dismiss it by saying "simply." After continual pleading the Lord finally told Moses, "Speak to Me no further concerning this matter." We know that in His wonderful grace God did permit Moses from Mt. Nebo to see the land in its breadth and outreach. It is a rule of judgment that one can always tell the gravity of the offense by the severity of the punishment which follows. Study this entire account (Num bers 20:7-11). Moses' sin was quite grievous. He had addressed Israel in wrath. He had no permission from God to say, "Ye rebels." We find the further testimony from Psalm 106:33 that "he spoke un advisedly with his lips." He set himself much above the people. He had not believed in God as Page 29
