Each year, The Horswell Collection at Windermere Realty Trust offers an annual report summarizing the activities of the practice. This year's theme, "for the client," exemplifies the values that Richard places on relationships with his clients and the community.
2023-24 ANNUAL REPORT
for the client . . .
OVERVIEW
“
With 20 years of advisory service within the industry sphere, I combine my work within real estate, mortgage, and title/escrow to provide an exceptional experience for buyers and sellers . My expertise in high-impact marketing, technical/trans- actional excellence, and negotiation savvy has pro- pelled me to become a respected ally for my clients in addition to consulting with top producers with an annual combined sales volume of $2-3 billion. I apply that brain trust in navigating every nuance of client transactions as your advocate. Welcome to The Horswell Collection™ . . . I’ve spent two decades designing and building a platform with one simple phrase in mind, “for the client . . .” Over the last year, I’ve used it as the barometer for client care and as a reason why I’ve been so passionate about building a solid framework to achieve that goal. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you this last year. My clients and working within the community to create a better place remain at the center of my real estate practice. Richard Horswell Broker & Principal Creative Executive ”
Richard has always been actively involved with the professional trade association of each business sector throughout his career. Believing clients benefit from his knowledge of the market, economy, and in the regulatory space, he can synthesize key information points easily to navigate the real estate sphere with ease. In this particular meeting, Windermere President OB Jacobi summarizes recent develop- ments with the National Association of REALTORS®.
Everyone asks “what’s with the chair?” It was located in the window for sale at The Heights Antiques next door to his office. Pictured with his photographer Cameron Perkins, it symbolizes Richard’s creative thought process and unconventional marketing strategies.

YEAR IN REVIEW
for the client . . .
Having spent 20 years within the mortgage and title/escrow professions and serving as an industry convention chair for three years, lecturer and advisor for best practices in marketing, and as an educator and consumer advocate by training brokers to be ready for new regulations, the last 365 days have been truly exciting to test and prove my theories as a licensed real estate broker. “For the client . . .” comes from a genuine desire to solve a puzzle. At the end of the day, Realtors® provide solutions while being adept counsel to the complexity of human and market dynamics. No matter the price or type of property, the joy a real estate professional receives from helping a client reach a goal is unmatched. My real estate practice is fundamentally built with a different structure than most due to the relationships I’ve built within the industry and associated sectors. Just as a seasoned conductor whirls the baton to create balance of symphonic perfection, I strive to excel in bringing all parties and vendors together for successful transactions. I contend that the artform of practicing real estate is on par with a brush stroke from Monet - and have relished sitting in an office with a tribe of top-producing artisans and being associat- ed with a company of brokers who are at the pinnacle of their professions. The environment of collaboration and learning is enduring at Windermere Realty Trust - and that is the reason why I made only one phone call out of hundreds of possibili- ties and have the fortune to sit in a storied location that by all accounts has launched the careers of the most notable talent in Portland’s real estate world. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you as a resource!
Richard’s first listing was a 100+ year old bungalow in North Portland that required complex technical and nego- tiation talent.
To celebrate the closing, WFG Oregon’s Executive Vice-President Kris Taylor provided guidance during the signing.
Recognition of the team dynamic is particularly important to The Horswell Collection. Acknowledging the earned talent of the team is part of our story.

COMPANY
Long before I considered becoming a licensed REALTOR®, I’ve always had a distinct fondness for the Windermere Real Estate brand. It’s elegance, stature, and people attracted me at first, but the environment of integrity, honesty, continual learning, and best-in-class technology were the extra benefits that have overflowed within the collaborative nature of each person who aligns themselves with our instantly recognizable brand. It was only fitting that I’ve been there for many of the company’s milestones including the January 2018 event to celebrate Realty Trust Group merging their talent to create Windermere Realty Trust in the Metropolitan Portland and Oregon Coast markets. With over 300 offices and 7,000 agents in the Western United States and Mexico, the Seattle-based company was founded by John Jacobi in 1972. Today, OB Jacobi, Jill Jacobi Wood, and Geoff Wood are co-presidents with Geoff acting as CEO. Personally, Windermere’s story is compelling as is its com- mitment to community. My family’s philanthropic dedication amplified the Windermere Foundation’s importance as a key factor in my decision to affiliate with the company as a relevant, forward-thinking corporate leader in supporting organizations I have been aligned with in the long-term like Bridge Meadows. I admire Windermere’s commitment to their agents which means an additional layer of sophistication in representation for the client. Prior to joining the firm, I was required to participate in a boutique multiweek learning module called Rapid Start as a new licensee. This not only provided an Ivy League level of en- hanced training but also a superior framework on how to further navigate the landscape with ease. In addition, my managing principal broker Joe Menashe is a savvy industry veteran who I’ve enjoyed learning from as a mentor.
Richard was invited to attend a special Wind- ermere Premier event in Seattle in 2015 with BRAVO TV Million Dollar Listing NYC Star Fredrik Eklund. Richard is a member of the Windermere Premier Forum that offers symposiums on a number of topics.
