BELFAST JOINS THE BM ELECTRICAL WHOLESALE NETWORK: A PERFECT FIT FOR EXPANSION AND INVESTMENT IN SERVICE EXCELLENCE… BM Electrical Wholesale establishes its presence in Belfast
B elfast is the latest branch to be added to the BM Electrical Wholesale stable, joining sites in Coleraine, Londonderry and Ballymena. In 2019, BM Electrical acquired Fairley & Smyth Electrical Wholesalers in the Duncrue Industrial Estate to establish its presence in the capital city. Trading as a family-owned, independent electrical wholesaler for more than 30 years, Fairley & Smyth had built its reputation on the same business values and beliefs as its new owner. BM Electrical Managing Director Ken Robinson said, “Fairley & Smyth was a long-established and reputable
family-owned independent electrical wholesaler and was a perfect fit for our expansion plans. “We took the business over in the October of that year and made a considerable investment in the refurbishment and modernisation of the branch. “This included the construction of a new mezzanine floor, offices and trade counter, new computer systems and additional staff. We have doubled the stock holding with both the number of SKUs and quantity of stock held.” All existing staff were retained, with additional staff members added to support sales growth and the branch is currently actively recruiting to
further bolster its team. Investment in BM Electrical’s Belfast branch has continued in 2023, with the addition of a new cable containment store, cable racking and cable reeling machine. The Belfast branch now stocks a comprehensive range of SWA, TUFF and YY cables. “Fairley & Smyth was a long-established and reputable family-owned independent electrical
