SUPPORTING LOCAL ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS: CORE NI AND GRAZIADIO’S EXCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIP UNLOCKS HIGH-RISE PROJECT SOLUTIONS… Core Distribution NI and Graziadio join forces
City Square House, Leeds Working with electrical contractor PmK Electrical, Core Distribution NI again specified Graziadio’s GTA Power Busbar for this 12-storey, Grade A office accommodation block. Sam recalled, “We secured an order in early June 2022, for a 2000A rising busbar with an IP55 rating, with goods shipped from Italy just three weeks later. It was suggested to use a busbar from the main panel to the bottom of the busbar rather than a cable to an end feed box. This was an intricate design taking in to account other on-site services. “Several bespoke double bends were required to ensure proper positioning within the riser. In mid-September, an additional order was placed for these made-to-order items. They were produced and shipped in just four weeks.
C ore Distribution NI has forged an exclusive partnership with leading busbar manufacturer Graziadio UK. This collaboration covers Northern Ireland and UK Mainland and has introduced a comprehensive selection of lighting, rising and power busbars to Core Distribution NI’s portfolio. This development provides opportunities for both NI electrical contractors and NI wholesalers. “Graziadio and its range of lighting, rising and power busbars is a good fit for us,” said Adrian McGarrity, MD for Core Distribution NI. “We can now specify the competitively priced and technically sound Graziadio busbar
range to local wholesalers, consultants and contractors who are tendering on a diverse range of projects, including high- rise student accommodation and office blocks, both in NI and GB.” Core Distribution NI recently worked on two projects with Graziadio. The first was the Nelson Street Student Accommodation in Belfast for Armagh- based FFC working with local wholesaler EEC. THe second was in Leeds, West Yorkshire for electrical contractor PmK Electrical based in Dungannon working

Case study:
Nelson Street Student Accommodation, Belfast Core Distribution NI worked with electrical contractor, Fox Electrical Contracts to meet the product specifications needed to tender for the 12-storey Nelson Street Student Accommodation project in Belfast. Graziadio’s GDA Power Busbar (often referred to as a rising busbar) was specified for the multi-storey project. Sam Ward, Managing Director Graziadio UK commented, “This product is ideally suited for high-rise buildings where the rising mains can be installed along a riser duct or through floors. Each floor will have a tap off unit which can serve distribution boards on that floor. “The key advantage is ease of installation. Using our product, which is essentially a trunking system, is much more convenient compared to pulling heavy cables. “This bespoke design included special cut lengths with fire barriers positioned in agreed locations. It was approved on August 25, 2023, ordered on August 28, and the goods were delivered six weeks later. Being an independent manufacturer allows us to be more flexible and more nimble with lead times.”
