LIGHTING

A NEW LIGHTING DIVISION LAUNCHED BY EDMUNDSON ELECTRICAL DUBLIN FOCUSES AND ENHANCES ITS EXPERTISE IN THE SECTOR… Let there be light

H aving established a reputation for expertise in lighting, Edmundson Electrical Dublin is taking its focus to the next level. A new entity, Edmundson Lighting Division (ELD), has been launched to reflect the growing share of business for the electrical wholesaler in the market. It will operate as a separate division with its own team, office space and branding. It will be managed by a familiar face, who is qualified in lighting design and already well known to clients for his skills and professionalism. ELD will offer something more to its already extensive customer base, Daniel Eckersall, Lighting Division Manager, said, “As a concentrated specialist lighting service, unlike individual lighting suppliers, we are not tied to one manufacturer and we can select and tailor the choice to the perfect fitting for each specific application, based on each supplier’s strengths. “Some suppliers are strong in some areas and weak in others. Our strength as a wholesaler lighting division will be combining these suppliers and bringing

them in as required to offer a bespoke tailored solution to each customer to ensure that they get a complete holistic design and all aesthetics and light levels are achieved.” A further advantage is that Edmundson supplies only market-leading brands. Stephen Connolly, Manager of Edmundson Electrical Dublin, said, “Lighting has always been a very strong part of our business. Something Edmundson doesn’t do is own brand, and we don’t do inferior products. “We work closely with about eight key market-leading lighting manufacturers and look at the best fitting for each application. You’re getting quality branded products from a quality wholesaler, and we will offer the perfect solution for each job.” A diverse client base is already in place across residential, commercial, and industrial projects including, hospitals, prisons, airports and nursing homes to name but a few. And over recent years, the firm has moved into more bespoke lighting projects such as statement installations

for the hotel sector. “With our new lighting division, we’ve contacted a couple of unique suppliers that are a bit more specialist. This has enabled us to make more offers in those areas that previously we would have been weaker in,” said Stephen. “It’s another string to our bow.” ELD will be able to draw on Daniel’s own expertise together with designers from its preferred suppliers, and on-site printing facilities, to rapidly turnaround project designs for clients. Edmundson Dublin’s focus for Q4 and into 2024 is to work with its keys suppliers to develop this new area for its business and, with a busy schedule of supplier training events and factory tours lined up, prospects look promising. “We have been very fortunate over the last number of years that this business has grown from strength to strength,” said Stephen. “Lighting has always been a very important part of our business and I think, with a bit more focus and concentration, it can grow even stronger.” T: +353 (0)1 882 0770 E: Dublin.713@eeil.ie
