AIKIA Karate (ages 5-17) This class will teach children ways to channel their energy in a positive way, self discipline, respect for others, self-defense, improved memory skills and physical conditioning. Registration Overview A variety of classes and programs are available for all ages and areas of interest. A registration fee must be paid in full before attending any class. Some classes may require extra fees and supplies. Some of the classes have a minimum and maximum number of participants. Pre-registration is highly recommended. If the minimum is not met within 48 hours of the class start date, then the class is subject to cancellation. If a class is canceled, then the participant may request to transfer to another class or receive a refund check by mail. Participants will be notified of any classes that have been canceled or rescheduled. In the event that a participant wants to withdraw from a class, he or she must complete a refund request form prior to the second class meeting to get a full refund or a transfer. Inclusion Policy • Participate must complete registration form (attached) 14 calendar days prior to scheduled event/service to Recreation Center. • Registration form received (date stamped) and reviewed by Supervisor. • Staff contacts appropriate agency/organization to schedule an assessment of the participant. • Participant is evaluated with parent/guardian. • Agency/organization recommends plan for inclusion or provides a referral to an agency/ organization to provide similar recreational program/service. • Concerns and request should be placed in writing and include information on the specific program/service, location of program, requested accommodation, and/or incident/occurrence. • Communicate directly with the Parks Managing Director, any concerns, which are not resolved within 14 calendar days by the program facility, and or any compliance violations.
