EMANUAL NINE MEMORIAL, CHARLESTON, SC The Beach Company partnered with The Emanuel AME Church to guide the process of building a memorial in Charleston, SC, after the June 17, 2015 slaying of nine clergy and parishioners. By collaborating to organize the Mother Emanuel Memorial Foundation and serving on the memorial board of directors, The Beach Company has steered the project through fundraising, the selection of architect Michael Arad, design approval process and assembling the engineers and construction team. The mission to memorialize the Emanuel Nine and to reverse the spread of racism through outreach programs to overcome hate with truth and love will soon be realized with a groundbreaking in early 2022.
