A compound word is made up of two smaller words put together.

catfish
An eyelid protects your eye. When a river drops over a cliff, it creates a waterfall . The time for the middle meal of the day is lunchtime . A springboard is a flexible board you jump from.
A rainbow is a band of colors. A bath for birds is a birdbath .
A piano has a keyboard that you play. You use a hairbrush to brush your hair. A scorekeeper keeps the score during a game. A catfish is a fish with whiskers.
